Happy Chinese Year (My Year - ender Blog)

You may be wondering why the title of my blog is like that. Well! Everything that happened this year was full of China and something like China. I have spent 1/3 of the year (collective) in China and the rest in the Philippines but was still influenced with a lil bit of China.

I started the year by being in China. It was a fun experience because this is my first time that I'll be stepping in the mainland China. It was scary at first but it came out enjoyable towards the end. It was scary because I came there for work and we will be like representatives of the country and prove to them that we Filipinos are capable of what they are doing. It did became enjoyable because of the SNOW! yeaaahhh! My first time to experience snow in my entire life. It was also disastrous at first because China is China. We cannot understand every bit written everywhere which makes it hard to cope during the first day. When we got used to the place, it became a lot easier. Also, some of our coworkers helped us decipher everything. When we don't know something, we asked them the next day. :)

When we came back from China, I just realized a few things. We somehow look like Chinese! Hahaha! May be that's also a factor on how they choose people to be part of their team. Hahaha! One of my passions have also been exercised when we came back. I was able to taught something we have learned from China. I also shared some of the experiences we've had their. Aside from working hand in hand with the China people, I also studied their culture in the sideline to know why they behave differently. I found out that their culture is very far from the culture I got used to. In my point of view, it is indeed a requirement to understand different cultures in order for you to adapt quickly with different cultures. Being diverse is a requirement!

When I had this weird dream that I will be going back to China again, it really came true. It was not that fun to be exact. Yes, it was fun at some point but most of the time it is not. It's not fun due to the fact that I was shown that working there is VERY STRESSFUL! Somebody is playing the Blame Game to save their own asses and look good to everyone. One notable thing that happened back then was the experience I had in Shanghai. I LOVE SHANGHAI! When I'm there, I forget every stress that I encounter during the weekday and turn into excitement. Some of the things I cannot forget there are:
     1.  I was able to dance and learn how Chinese do hiphop and jazz funk. Aside from that, I tried to do contemporary dance there! It was disastrous and funny at the same time. Hahaha! The teacher thought that I was Chinese and talks to me in Mandarin. Lol! But in the end, he commended me for being able to catch up with what he taught at least (he talked to me in English when the class ended). He was shocked that I have no backgrounds at all with the contemporary dance but I was able to catch some of the steps.
"MUSIC REALLY HAS NO BORDERS. THE LANGUAGE OF MUSIC IS UNIVERSAL."
    2.  I found a big Hershey's chocolate! It is much bigger than the computer keyboard. If only I know how to bring it home I bought it already. Hahaha!
    3.  I lost my first Blackberry (actually second if you consider my BB on my previous company) on my way home to Hangzhou. :(

To really make it a Happy Chinese Year, I make sure to go to Hongkong before ending the year. It was really fun! I enjoyed it so much! Finally! I have a picture with Mickey Mouse! Plus I got a chance to have a picture with Tinkerbell too! Yeeeaaahhhh! :D

Aside from being Chinese during the year 2011, my life is full of DANCE. My passion with dance grew bigger this year. A lot of international choreographers came to our country and it was really great. You may see all of those workshops I have attended in my previous blogs. Here's the list of the choreographers that came to our country:
    1.  Dumbo (founder of Poreotics)
    2.  Gigi Torres
    3.  Paul Ross
    4.  April Rodriguez
    5.  Ailyn Isidro
    6.  Darren Drake
    7.  Marc Anthony
    8.  Brian Puspos

I was unable to watch some concerts but every class I have attended are very worth it. :D

I end my blog by thanking HIM for all the blessings that He gave me on the year 2011. I'm really thankful for all the opportunities that opened for me. He also didn't fail me everyday. When I feel troubled, He never fails to comfort me even for a very small way. Thank you Lord! :D
